enough of the bouncy, bouncy. time for new shocks. WHERE?
it's not unbearable yet, but my poor little S is starting to get a little bouncy bouncy. I've been searching thru the threads and I'm just looking for something to stay similar to the stock ride, but can't spend the $1800 Menlo Honda wants for a the stock set. From what I've heard, the Koni Yellows sound pretty decent and the price can't be beat.
Here's my questions:
1-Has anyone had any success with a local (bay area) place installing these or other shocks? For those who don't know me, I usually drive from Concord to Redwood City to have Menlo Honda do any repairs on my car. So I'm pretty much willing to go anywhere between San Jose and Sacramento...
2-Or, for those who have installed these, or other similar shocks. What would I be getting myself into doing these myself. I'm more than capable, just trying to balance my time with the cost--if it's not that much more to install them, I have plenty of other things to do...
3-Or, does anyone else have any recommendations of shocks that are in the same price range (about $150/ea)?
Thanx!
oh yeah, for those that were asking months ago, the kitchen's finally finished...

And check out Pepper's new Doggles...

Passleft,
Koni's are a great value for the money. Ground Control should have them available. www.ground-control.com.
I live in Walnut Creek, so I could come and help you install them.

1800 for a stock set? They must be kidding. I'm selling a stock set myself here:

Hey Monkeymaker, thanx again for the shocks. It'll be nice to feel how nice she drives over bumps again...
Now I just need to find a weekend to put them in... of course that means one of the house projects will have to get pushed back another week... One day I'll finish the house.
good luck on the house too. Just think how enjoyable it will be when you're able to sit down on the thrown with your sport compact car magazine... ;-)
