i found its better to drive easy for the first 1000 miles.
i tried it both ways on my 06 vs my 07
in my 06 i drove easy, never maintained a set rpm and i didnt vtech it till i got over 1000 miles
on my 07 i drove hard revving up to 6k (apparently the maximum you can take the car when in break in) for most of the 1000 miles
the outcome is that i feel that the 06 runs better and i can feel the vtech jerk harder. then again my results may have varied because of some change that i am unaware of between the 06 and 07 s2000.
long story short, i say drive easy.

thanks everyone for the help. I drove it pretty easy for the first 500, now I'm beating the hell out of it.
joey - thanks for the tip on the break-in additives in the oil. I'll remember to change it out at 5k.

Those break-in additives consist of all the metal dust floating around.
I called two dealerships as well as a honda motorcycle dealer since bikes are delivered dry (no fluids) and an ex honda mechanic.
I always assumed that getting rid of the metal dust outweighed any additive.
My assumptions so far seem to be correct talking to the few people that I have spoken to.
Oh! I also spoke to my amsoil dealer who's been in the industry a while also said it's just regular oil spec'd to the vehicle.
All in all it's what feels right to you.
My GSXR was broken in at button willow with 350 miles on ODO with synthetic oil. I think it would be pretty hard to blow a motor although I have seen it happen with someone who use to swear by Mobile 1. hehehe sorry had to go there.

sweet. thanks for the info mac. I actually would feel more safe to change it sooner than later, simply because I know there's all that metal dust crap in my car still. -_-

I spoke to someone at American Honda today but she
said that the special additive is to help the engine and
tranny mesh together better okay??
