Damn...these consoles are still on back order? I had no patience waiting and driving all across town looking for a Wii so I got a PS3 instead.

I'm thinking about getting a PS3 as well, but I'm wondering why anyone would ever need an 80 GB HD. Is it just for the backwards compatibility?

I think the 80GB PS3's are also based on newer chip cores (65nm) so, less heat... and PS2 game support is done via software emulation instead of having dedicate "PS2" chips inside. Also, the 80Gb models have 4 USB ports.
