I had a bit of an 'incident' today, that was a nice back to reality. Damp road + Too much throttle = Sideways. Luckily it was a no harm, no foul incident; but a nice reality check none the less.
Me too I was going under the speed limit barely feathering the throttle around 3k RPM's and my back end came loose a bit through a very sharp turn. Good thing I was able to recover as theres no room for mistakes on that road

I wonder what would happen if we got a few inches of snow?

back when there was snow where I lived, we'd all head out just after a fresh snow fall and rip it up.

When it didn't fall for a few weeks we'd hit parking lots and move the piles of snow around and mess around.

I think in here they use fast food trays to do the same thing.

Tons of fun

I wonder if all the people who are spinning out are running sticky summer tires on the back (which aren't meant for rain)....Star Spec's anyone?

Mine feels surprisingly well planted on Sumitomo HTRZ3's unless I'm deliberately jerky.

Remember, smoother is always better!

Regardless of what tire you are running, the issue is often a result of not taking into consideration that the available coefficient of friction decreases proportionally with the amount of water on the ground, compounded by varying amounts of oil that still reside on the surface of the friction surface, in this case either concrete or asphalt.

*Cliff note*
It's as slippery as shit out there.
