Whatever you guys do, DO NOT speed through any part of highway 17 that isn't curvy (feel free to go nuts on the curvy parts though). 
Be especially careful on the straight parts around Lexington Reservoir, the summit, and when coming into Scotts Valley. The entire highway is crawling with cops and they love to hide in the bushes and radar you as you come over the crest of a hill. And given that the speed limits in the straight parts are ridiculously low at 50 MPH, it's damn near impossible to abide by it, but please do your best. Hope no one gets a ticket.
