would it be wrong of me to say

Cheaper helmet is to : Gap

as to

Better name brand helmet is to : Banana Republic

being that they are made my the same manufacturer but sourced out as a different product name. i.e. brands such as HJC helmets being made by shoei.
Big wrong.

HJC and Icon are both made in Korea and Shoei in Japan. If you were comparing anything, HJC would be comparable to Icon (I heard they're made by the same manufacture, but don't know how true that is).

And um.. That Gap to Banana Republic is totally off. They both have different target markets and are owned by the same parent company. Gap is marketed towards family casual wear, where as Banana Republic is marketed more towards dressy clothings/professionals.

You're comparing helmet companies which are in the same target market.. providing helmets for motorcycle riders. Gap and BR are clothing companies, but they target two totally different markets and are both owned by Gap Inc. Your comparison is implying that Shoei and HJC targets two different markets and Shoei is the parent company and owns HJC.

Where did you hear HJC helmets were made by shoei??? that's the first time i've EVER heard that.

it should be snug enough so that when you shake your head side to side, the helmet does not move...

and I would go for lots of black and a little bit of red (for both bike + helmet)

One last thing... don't skimp on the helmet. Think of it this way - Just how important do you think your head is? ... and buy accordingly

should be snug on the cheeks, but not to the point where it's pushing ur cheeks upwards. Shouldn't be loose enough that when you shake your head, there's wiggle room. Get thicker padding and try out different widths.

neither but if i had to choose, the 1st one

make sure its snug on your cheeks, it'll break in and loosen up.

also realize that different helmets are made for different shaped heads, style isnt everything.

hoping i get my bike fixed soon.. i've been itching to ride on one wheel for a while
