Default Do i qualify for traffic school?

I got a speeding ticket tonight. Anywho, a breakdown to see if i qualify
fall 2005, got a ticket for failure to yield to pedestrian (went to traffic school, so 0 points on my record)
summer 2006, got a ticket for failure to signal while making a turn (within 18 months of last traffic school, so 1 point)
today, got a speeding ticket, so do i qualify for traffic school, technically its outside the 18 months of the last time i went to traffic shoool, but i'm not sure if that also applies to the whole moving violation thing since i got a ticket last year but didn't qualify for traffic school. I assume i do qualify since the elgibility thing revolves aroudn the 18 months timespan, regardless of whether or not i got a ticket last year and i didn't qualify since i went in 05. Not sure if i am making any sense

in the end, contest it...i contested my last ticket in person (i screwed up and missed the deadline for submitting through mail) and the judge automatically gave everyone a chance for traffic school even though you've gone in the past 18 months. granted, it was a 2 day (2 consecutive saturdays for 6 hours each) course, but it still got it off my record.

Where did you get the ticket? I got a speeding ticket in SF (tunnel right after GG brigdge). I contested the ticket and won. As per the lawyer, the city of SF is usually backlogged so if contested, the office may not even show up. I won based on another reason though....the ticket was barely legible because the officer had crossed out about half the ticket because they couldn't spell right.

Try consulting a lawyer but if not you should be able to take traffic school since it's been over 18 months...

my .02 cents.....

if today's ticket is 18 months apart from your first ticket then u are eligible for traffic school

it goes by the first ticket's date , not when u took the traffic school

you are eligible. if you aren't, you can always request it. i was granted traffic school through my trial by written declaration, even though i didn't qualify for it at first. i just completed my online traffic school in less than an hour

So does that mean i qualify since the last ticket i got was a year ago and i didn't qualify for traffic school back then since the previos time i went to traffic school was a year before that in 05. So i assume I can go?

Awesome. This brings up another questino, since i didn't get my ticket in the santa clara county, does that mean i can attend those easy traffic school like "comedy traffic schools". Also how is on-line traffic school, for people that tried that already
