Default DMV Automobile Registration Renewal Fee!!!
I just got a letter from the DMV stating that it is time for me to renew my registration...FOR 700 BUCKS!!!!!!


is this normal?
my car will be 1 year old this coming October 8th.

OMG! thats insane! i have not yet recieve my renewal until next year of march.. i hope thats not normal

Hummm...i just renewed mine earlier this month for $210. Btw, my CA registration was due August 1st.

Mine was due in June and it was about 215 as well minus late fees. I guess new law takes effect in Oct.

how long have you had your cars and how much (if you remember) did it cost you the first time?

From http://www.dmv.ca.gov :

The increase in Vehicle License Fees that was announced on Friday, June 20, 2003, affects vehicle registrations that become due October 1, 2003, or later. Vehicle registrations that become due before that date will be unaffected by the increase.

bleh... $700 for registration sucks ass.
