Cool. Funny thing is, I hadn't seen him since about the time this thread started. I do see the GTI all the time tho.

It's a $175... not $1000
$350 in SanDiego.

Your frustrations are VERY understandable. Lemme tell about MY hubby. Hit and dragged across an intersection by a truck when he was 10. His knees look like Jaws took a nibble and tried to spit him back (LOL..sorry honey!). When he went to the doctor (not intending to get tag) they told him he wouldn't be walking within the next two years. It's been 10. He sometimes uses the disabled-plate-laced van for business where he pulls huge speakers and cases out of and moves them to various locals, though you'll never see him running (funny site actually). You can't even tell he's disabled. He's 40, looks 30, and sports a tag in his '99 'vette with HREs and other upgrades.

We get A LOT of flack. We had a metermaid (huge ghetto woman) say "you shouldn't be using your dad's tag you know. Lemme see your papers!" Hubby hands it to her with a smile (for the dad comment). She still didn't believe him and (though he didn't need to) pulls up one pant leg and shows the least damaged knee. She hands the papers back and walks away without a word.

Moral to the story...don't judge a cripple by the car they drive. "Broke folk" want nice cars too. But slackers should be beaten.

So, what you're saying is that he's now abled (lifting heavy objects to and from vehicle) but because he has scars he is entitled to take the space from someone who is actually disabled? Mkay.

Its the way us cali people just are... haven't you seen that email floating around about "people who read the wall street journal run the world... people who read the new york times blah blah blah.."
and then it goes down and has a blurb about the SF chronicle and some stuff about supporting and standing up for the smallest minorities in the world... welp.. it's true... not so many snotty blue bloods over here.... and this is just another case of someone thinking they are above the system.. and don't be surprised that people say something about it.
