Default Deadly Miata crash in Milpitas

Damn! this happened on the backroards that I drive every week. Verts definately needs some good roll bars for safety. Be careful out there!

I use to drive that rd pretty frequently back in the day.. sierra to felter to calaveras. I even did it a few times in my minivan LOL.

the road isn't the smoothest.. lots of dips and it used to be cratered till they repaved either the entire thing or the entry parts of it from calaveras and sierra. lots of blind turns and some of them don't have barriers or the barriers are about 1/4 of the way down and it's a little wooden fence with skimpy wires.. pretty much to catch you so you don't roll all the way to oblivion/the bottom.

That road can get pretty high too. Winds up on a narrow rd and then winds down.

Sucks to hear stuff like this... even if it is a Miata.

Those Miata roll bars are dirt cheap (and still very effective), I am amazed why every Miata owner does not have one installed!

because they never think that one day they are actually going to fall off the mountain and roll like gazillion times.....

sometimes people regret small stuffs that might actually be useful later on.

I ride my bike up there a lot (road bicycle). There is a section of the road that is basically a single lane. If you are not familiar with the road, it could spell trouble when driving fast. Lots of blind turns so you really need to use your horn just in case there is a car coming from the opposite direction.

I've driven my S up there a few times. Still feels dangerous for someone who knows the road well.
