Over 100mph you can get your car impounded on the spot. If the cop isn't a jerk, they'll just give you a ticket.
Over 100mph = mandatory court appearance in the county you were cited, 2 points on the record, 30 day license suspension, and you pay the fine which could be $1000+.
I just got one for 83 in a 65 zone and mine is $219 before traffic school. I got pulled in San Martin on my way back from So Cal.

Either way, the judge wanted me to get a lawyer, and even pushed back the court date a few times. Finally I said screw it and just admitted guilt. :/
