Damm it!
Yes, i know i shouldnt have gone in the lane w/o a passenger.
Anyways long story short, I was heading to Sac and i forgot to get cash so i'd figure go threw the middle toll/carpool lane. Went threw and there was 4 bike chp on the side watching and got seen. Got pulled over, gave a excuse that traffic complety stop and i swreve out the way to avoid a collision and end up in the carpool lane. Cop didnt bite so gave me a tickit.....
So i figure im going to try and fight/lower the fine.
1. Tell the Judge that traffic stop all the sudden b/c one of the toll boths closed and cars were moving out the lane and i tried to move and was in the carpool lane and couldnt get out in time.
2. (added to excuse 1)The sun was downing down and was in my eyes, and my glasses(not sun glasses) had bad glare and counld see.
3....FU<K!

Option 1. Been there, done that. Just go to court and have them reduce the fine usually by 50-60%.
Or you can avoid court altogether and just pay the full fine.

Thanks, yeh I'd rather go to court reduce fine and not have to go to work.
If you don't get paid on that day off, lets hope amount the judge takes off is at least equal to or more than what you'd make at work that day. Otherwise, it was just a waste of time sitting in court.

don't think the judge will bite #1. He'll probably use the "you shouldn't be following too closely or going too fast that it prevented you from coming to a complete stop to avoid a collision without swerving". Especially if you're coming up on a toll bridge where you know the speed is reduced dramatically.
I'd say just go to court, ask for a fee reduction and take it. Sucks, but it's hard to fight carpool tickets since there's really no excuse why you should have been in that lane without another body...

Carpool violations are hard to fight and if you plan on going to court, I suggest you think of something better than those 2 excuses....hahaha
Those will NEVER work! I would tell them you had an IPASS account but you left it in the other car by mistake (assuming you have an account).
g'luck,
