cvc 5200 (no front plate)
Does anyone know if I could put my front plate back ask a cop to check "fix-it" for CVC 5200 (no front plate) violation?
The fine is 100 bucks!! *doh*
I got the ticket like 2 weeks ago but don't see the "fix-it" check-box option like in most CHP issued ticket.
Also is there a deadline for the "fix-it" action?
Thanks,
Alex

I just had it signed off by a friend of mine. $10.00 instead of $100.00, a word of caution, i got mine in San Francisco along with a parking ticket and sent them both in together. The Fix-it tix goes to a different address.

hey sfs2k...
I got my "no front plate" ticket as a parking ticket. It says $100.00 fine. But I dont' see anywhere on it that it is a correctable violation. It looks like any other parking ticket, where you just pay and that's it.
I dont' want to pay $100. What did your ticket look like?
Btw, I got mine while parked on Harrison, undert he bridge near the B of A clock tower.

San Jose is cracking down on no front plates... I got a ticket while driving down santa clara (right before second) last night. They had like 15 officers patroling on foot and pulling people over at traffic lights.
Funny thing was, I had the plate in my trunk, so I pulled into the spot right behind the cop car... put the plate on and had the same cop who gave me the ticket sign off on it! I also managed to re-open a wound on my finger and was bleeding all over the ticket, so the cop gave me a band-aid... how nice of him, a $10 band-aid just for me!

Regardless, it is still a fix-it-ticket. If you want, go look up all the CVC codes and you'll figure out it is what I said it would be. If you want, pay me $50 and I'll get it cleared up .

I have been in the east bay area for 18 months and never stopped for not having a front plate on my Audi S4. Told the dealer to not put the plate on the new S2K since I hate the way they look....and the holes in the bumpter. Is this more of a recent crackdown or is it more of a regional thing, i.e. San Jose and San Fran?

Hey Red Leader,
The tix looks the same as a regular parking tix, but if you look on the back there is a place for the officer to check a cvc 5200 violation, and he must sign it. just watch out where you mail it. I mailed it to the wrong place but DPT received the money. I then had to fax a request that the violation be waved, which they did. Just a hassle.
