Most of the US based sanctioning bodies tend to over spec their roll cages, so just because it doesn't pass SCCA or NASA spec doesn't make unsafe.

I dont want to sound like a wet blanket, but if you are going to install a roll bar for protection you should know that the Cusco cage is NOT approved by the SCCA. For serious protection,look at the Hard Dog.
