I've been using Mobil 1 0w-30, which claims to have the protection of a 5w or 10w. Extremely satisfied, as the car seems to rev much better than when it was on 10w. Mobil 1 oil filter here as well
I'll have to give this Eneos stuff a try, as a local speed shop has them in stock, I think

i would say most oils are more or less the same. the differences are in ur head from marketing campaigns. "dyno proven" "reduces wear and friction" "longer lasting" -sounds like slogans from an ad. oil is a commodidy that is readily available. the tech required to make a motor oil is not new, so the only real product differentiation is the one perceived by the customer.
i use whatever joey puts in my car. never any problems or performance issues.

Check out this post https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...0&#entry2888529 Based on that post, i found that valvoline synpower is slightly better than mobil1 synthetic. Kragen has the synpower on sale right now for only 3.49 a quart too!

And while you are free to have that opinion, it would argue it would be a false one. Motor oil just like anything else is the world improves over time. The tech required to make a motor isn't new, but those improve over time.
I would like to see what happens to a motor using Walmart generic oil after 25 hours of racing. You think the results would be the same as using Redline, Amsoil, Eneos, etc... Maybe if you drive a Geo Metro and change the oil everyone 3k miles, it doesn't matter, but for some of us, it definitely matters.

Motor oil for everyday use is completely different than high performance track use/ or high revving. The bigger difference in oil is not the hp it makes, but the protection against heat under high stress. Turning your car on the track hold a consistent 8200 rpms can cause extremely high temperatures, which the higher grade performance oils are better at protecting against spun rod bearings, seized piston etc. Good luck with SUPERTECH Walmart oil on the track.
Also, you probably don't want to use 10W30 in a 25 hr enduro no matter what brand because that level grade looses viscosity. That's why many run 10W40.
