Default Crayon Art

So lately I've had this urgent need to get paint and slather it over whatever surface I can find. So after buying a ton of canvases, clay, paints and a box of 96 crayons, I set out to calm the artist inside me.

These are the first two creations of this artistic phase I'm currently going through. I hope you like them!

Enjoy!

This is called "Color in the Rain" and I finished it tonight (1/19/12).

This is "Coming up for Air" and I finished it on 1/14/2012.

I'm now officially in need of Crayons.

Never thought of that Drisana... I used to draw and sketch a lot since I was a kid, such as transportation/industrial/product design, and interior design/architecture but would never thought of melting crayons as an art. Love your fantastic idea Drisana on both "Color in the Rain" and "Coming up for Air." Interesting art title btw. I want to see more... lol I wanna see melting crayons on someone's GPW.lol That'd be really interesting...

The idea behind both the pieces are basically...

For "Coming up for Air", I had this idea that in this world of metal and grey, sometimes people need to come up for air and inhale the colors beyond the smog and embrace art and creativity and let it kind of, rejuvenate them.

and for "Color in the Rain", In such a busy world where people pass by and rush to and from, they never stop to feel the rain on their face of admire the roses. This is meant to represent the few who embrace the colors in the rain and let it soak into their being.

Kinda cheesy, I know.
