Cracking Windshield
Got a crack developing after a nice stone hit the window. I've slowed the spread with some super glue and clear tape. Love it. However it's going to need to be replaced in the next month or so.
Who East Bay does this well and what should I expect to pay?

We used to use a place in Oakland, but it seems their quality has gone down hill over the years, so I got nothing for you. Price is somewhat dependent of what glass you want. PPG tends to be more expensive, though I like the glass clarity mine has.

PPG will be probably 180-250 depending on what your glass guy wants to charge. I got quoted 130 out the door with XYG brand which isn't bad at all. Considering how often I changed windshields (1 in 4 years and 4 S's) I would venture to say it's worth the difference in ~50$-100$ to get the best (PPG) glass and a reputable installer.

I think an old s2ki member use to work there, though I don't recall his sn off the top of my head.
Btw, if you replace the windshield, get a new moldins. You could reuse the old one, but the way the glass is removed, i'd imagine the moldings to get warped or bent out of shape. You can order new ones from
