Compared to the show car, I don't like the black bars in the grille and the wheels look like they need more offset. The changed details take a lot of the cool edge the show car had away and make it look more "normal." That said, this is a very tempting daily driver option and the fuel economy they are claiming is a nice bump over the Fit. Eco, Normal, and Sport modes will help give it a wider range of personalities. Sport mode apparently makes the steering heavier and changes the software to make the electric motor much more willing to drain the battery. Eco does the opposite.
Even the base model will come with an excellent feature set, and the EX gets some extra goodies including an upgraded stereo with a subwoofer. Nav will be available on the EX.

So much hype about this car...hopefully it'll be a fun little thing. But initial power #s and weight don't really sound that great..plus only 34mpg combined or something like that? Not really appealing as a fun hot hatch nor as a fuel efficient hybrid...hopefully Si coming soon?
At least the boys at a few car mags are ripping it to pieces, which might be a bit premature..who knows, maybe it'll be one of those great underpowered little chuckable things.

..and the interior looks too jaggedy for my liking.
Anyway, between the FT-86 and this...if the FT-86 ends up being anything like what the concept looked like, I think Toyota has a winner there...looked amazing IMO, plus subaru engine and RWD!

I'd drive the CR-Z before passing any judgment - if the motor assist kicks on early and often, the numbers could be very deceptive.
All that said, it's more of a GOLF tetes-a-tetes than a WRX STi match.
