I'm going to fight tooth and nail. Basically I got exhibition of speed ticket for rapid accelleration (redlining in first to show off), I never went over the speed limit, and I didn't break traction. The cop full out admitted that she didn't know how fast I was going, or even how she determined that i was speeding, but that my "engine was loud" , and apparently a loud engine is enough to constitute an exhibition of speed citation...

So could we potentially get tickets for revving it hard up to 65mph entering the freeway? I mean, whenever I get a nice open onramp, I rev it up a little bit; not enough to bounce off the limiter, but enough to see the gap between the tailgater behind me disappear.

well, by my cop's logic, lol, i guess she could give you a ticket for exhibitionist speed, but it's not speeding. Onramps are considered acceleration lanes, and assume the speedlimit of the freeway you are entering.

wow, 1700 bucks. ouch. that sucks. good luck. i'm going to be on 505 thur and fri....last time i did 150 there...now i think i'll stick to the speed limit. can't imagine the fine for that.

they can. they can also include lots of jail time, and lots of points on your record. depending on how the judge is feeling that day.
