Well honestly I didn't bother finding out, but it doesn't matter. What matters is you fight against what you were charged for. A radar reading will prove that you were going the speed the officer is proposing. But you're not trying to say you weren't going that speed, because then it's really your word against the officer's. If you fight the ticket like that you probably aren't going to win it. You're trying to say the speed that you were going at is reasonable for the conditions that day. Of course, if you were caught going down a 35mph road at 90 you probably aren't going to win. But if you're like 20 over and the roads were clear/free of traffic/dry then you have a good chance of winning.

But of course, you should try extending the ticket as much as possible so the chances of an officer writing back decreases.

i think i might actually have to extend it because of finance and not because of this reason T_T

update:

ok so i just got the courtesy note today in the mail.

fine came out to be $381 w/ traffic school and $342 without. boo. still going to try the trial by written declaration though

Which county were you cited? Also they tend to look at recent traffic tickets, so your 94mph might not look so hot with the judge. But also depends which county you are in
