cop clocked the wrong car?!
so i got a ticket for going '55 in a 35 zone' when i was going 40 in a 35.
i'm assuming he clocked the girl who cut me off thinking i wanted to 'race' her but instead he probably thought 'oh i'll get the convertible with the loud exhaust and aftermarket rims...he was most likely the one speeding'
what are my options for this situation and how much are the fees? only fee i've gotten was a year and half ago for going 94 (which was my fault) in a 55 zone on 87 in an accord.
he also couldn't figure out my age cause i was in my work attire and cooperated with respect o_O;
he asked for my address since i moved and i'm moving again very soon so i'm assuming i just show up to court and pay the fee since the box that says 'will be notified' isn't checked?
somebody correct me or something please!

You could probably get a court date and explain the situation and hopefully get reduced fines or even dismissal. Or wait for the notice in the mail and do a trial by written declaration. I personally haven't done one so someone should chime in. I heard about the written one from the boards. Good luck with that. I had the same thing happen to me but I just did traffic school since I was in high school and had no time to do a court appearance.

Good luck. I did trial by declaration for a ticket I got in CA when I picked up my current S2000. I got ticketed for doing 91 in a 65. Claimed that my cruise control was set for 85 and that I understand I was wrong, but that they either didn't clock me or there is error in the radar gun. Received a response as "Guilty" without explanation.
**** the CA courts.
EDIT: The reason I fought it is in CA you cant take traffic school to reduce a ticket if its more than 25 over. Coincidence that they ticketed me for 26 over? I was trying to get it reduced so that I could at least get the ticket lowered so that it wouldn't affect my insurance.

in this case, i really do wish that cops opened their eyes a bit more and realize that not all cars w/ an exhaust and rims speed and that they are innocent compared to the 'stock' who was cutting people off and speeding
