Yo Ed!

I'm using:

Tranny: GM Synchromesh Friction Modified (Chevy Dealership on Stevens Creek & San Tomas has it)

Diff: LE607 (bought from Ricks)

btw, security almost escorted me outta Town Hall today. Case of mistaken identity! lol

i've been using amsoil tranny fluid and its great. Smooth shifts even when cold and only gets better as it warms up. I also used amsoil severe gear diff fluid. Good stuff. I switched to mobile one recently. as for coolant just buy the premixed prestone crap. makes life easier.

Coolant: Comes with green, use green. Don't use the orange/red GM long-life stuff. It doesn't get along with the green stuff.

Transmission: no strong recommendations. I have Redline MTL. Some clunks going into 2nd when cold, smooth after a couple of shifts. I'll try the new & improved Honda MTF at my next change.

Differential: The manual specifies SAE 90W gear oil. The only differential lube I know of that matches the spec is the LE607 Almasol sold here on the S2kI marketplace by Go Fast Lab. 75W90 is a multi-grade oil and that doesn't match the spec, although I ran Redline 75W90 in my Miata differential for several years without a problem before I discovered LE607.

Which equates to two bottles of MTF and 1 bottle of diff fluid for the retarded.

Ed,

Coolant, I would stick to Honda coolant

As for tranny fluid
give the new Honda MTF with the white cap a try. Alot of people on the honda-tech said the fluid is good. There is nothing wrong using Honda fluid. I personally recommend to my customers for their s2000 but some do use Redline MTF and Motul.

As for differential, Motul 75w90, Redline 75w90, Mobil synthetic 75w90 and Honda differential fluid are good. make sure you add the lsd additive.

tranny 2qty
differential .8qty unless you remove the differential and put in 1qt

hope this help!

Awsome fluid! Better then Redline MT90 or GM Synchro Mod.

Isn't the LSD additive for clutch type differentials (ours is a gear type)? The service manual doesn't say anything about needing a limited slip additive. Is the additive mentioned in the TSB about using 75W90/80W90 oils?
