Consider buy my first s2k
I want to buy a s2k a reasonable price for daily commute. Recently, I looked at one 2002 s2k cost about $11700. Here is the info about the car:
Title: CLEAN TITLE
79xxx miles
ALL STOCK
adult owned
240hp
Never been in accident
rear glass window (not the plastic one)
17\" volution racing rims
carbon fiber rear spoiler Never been in accident
The vehicle in the picture is still very new. Do you think $11700 is a good price? Or it should be higher or cheaper? The car is in Fairfield and vacaville area, but I live in Milpitas, and I dont know anything about car. Any suggestion What I should do if I want to see the car. Thank you very much

first, welcome.
second, how i wish you never disclosed those information for I MIGHT JUST BUY IT.
third, ask for pictures first.
fourth, well what is there to do than to see the car in person. we cant tell on point if the car have problems big or small. as for the mileage and price its reasonable.
fifth, make sure you brought money
sixth, this is the fun part. test drive it.
seventh, wth are those volution wheels?
eight, if ever you are making the trip. then try to at least have a buddy that knows about cars in general...
good luck, may the force be with you.

I take it is the craigslist offer you're looking at -- I'd say the price is good so long as the car is in good condition.
To note, those front and rear bumpers are not stock. I'd make sure the car hasn't seen any accidents or ask where the original bumpers. The front bumper may some sort of replica J's Racing bumper as it has absolutely terrible fitment (JP, feel free to correct me). And the rear bumper is a 2nd generation S2000 rear bumper (AP2 vs. the AP1).
In one of he pictures I can see he has a stack of the original wheels, ask if those come with the car, as those wheels on there are terrible IMHO but hey to each their own taste.
In another picture I can see the top is in pretty good condition that's good. Look at it up close, look for any tears or areas where the top is rubbing down.
The interior looks pretty clean, it has an AP2 radio door cover. Usually people change these for cosmetic purposes, but there is a chance it was replaced due to a break-in, in which case I'd want to know about it and any wiring issues that came from the break-in. There is also a weird ass switch on the left side coming from the A-pillar. This is not stock by any means, and a VERY unfinished, and unsightly switch, to which we have no clue what it does. Whatever it is, it shows some crappy craftsmanship in terms of wiring, be VERY suspect with this, you don't want to buy a car with any electrical gremlins or amateur electrical work.
The trunk has some fitment issues, it also looks like a stock trunk, combined with the updated AP2 bumper, I'm worried this may have been in some sort of rear end collision the owner hasn't reported/is telling you about.
That's all I can tell about the car, I'd say it's been in a collision or two -- I'd also want to have a mechanic do a compression and leakdown test to tell you how strong the motor is/what condition it is in. It's a relatively cheap test to tell you if the car is worth buying, you can post results here and one of the many members will analyze it for you.

Yea, as for what justin (name correct?) said, check how much effort they put in to install the AP2 and you'll see how much effort they used on the car as a whole. Putting in those tail lights requires that they cut into the metal of the body and if you don't see cuts.... then rear end collision for sure because that might just be a whole AP2 rear end lol. <worst case scenario for the tail lights and bumper Oh, and double check all vin numbers on the car and body panels. There should be some in the door jambs, truck and firewall. Always look at a car with skepticism unless you REALLY know the owner and it's history : p
