Thumbs up completely clueless if this is needed or not

so i got my car with the AEM CAI and i noticed that one of the hoses were loose / the previous owner failed to properly attach to the intake. i got some reflective tape to try and hold it up until a couple weekends ago, it just melted apart because of the Skaggs drive T_T

so my question is, is that hose really needed? what is it exactly? what should i use to hold it back in place?

please don't leave obscene remarks, all i want are answers to my questions!
the obnoxious pink shows what hose i'm talking about. TIA!

Yes it is needed, I believe you will get the infamous p0411 code if it is removed...

There are many people who wonder why they get this code, there could be many reasons, which range from improper intake install, to burnt out air pump. as well as a missing/cut hose/leak. Just replace the hose paul

can it be any hose that fits? or that specific hose?
IRL, the hose is just a hose...no clips, no rubber attachments, no nothing. has a smaller sized metal tip which doesn't fit the intake snuggly so that's why i used the tape =/ i guess i have ANOTHER new project!

am i missing a part to fit onto the hose to the intake itself?

Is it that exact hose u depicted? I think I may have a box full of that stuff from when papa5murf originally did the turbo install. Should have it in the leftover box.
