So glad I ended up not going to the last one. Finally took the car for a spirited drive after my "prep" for the missed day and SURPRISE the driver's front caliper bolts were not torqued. "Hmm, what's the all that clanking and scraping going on?" ... *stop*...*look* "OH SHIT" *call tow truck*

Lesson is don't prep under time pressure. New bolts should arrive in a few days and I'm going to give the car a much-needed slow once-over from bumper to bumper.

This is a good tip. As a general rule, I try to never do any last-minute setup changes or parts swaps the day before an event. It's easy to miss something when you're rushing and the track is the wrong place to realize you didn't torque something properly or forgot to add fluid or something. I like to do any changes the weekend before so I have all week to make sure the setup is good and safe.

Can anyone link some of the rules regarding passengers, safety bits, etc? Couldn't find them.
