of course not! CHP would be trespassing and you can kick them out.

Sucks that you go a ticket, but i've had worse happen in front of my house while I was sleeping on a Saturday morning. Ticket for no front plate... talk bout chicken shit.

Thats because your parking lot is "public accessed private property".

your parking lot has unrestricted access to a public road and your are providing retail sales on the property. Therefore all road going laws apply on the private property. I learned this the hard way
