Just figure the tip is 2x the sales tax. It is still proportional to what you ordered. If that's too complicated, just add up your total and multiply by 1.25.

EX: Your food was $10 -> leave $12.50 (or splurge for $13)

Maybe disclaimers on your dinner meets saying bills are split evenly and/or alcoholic drinks should be ordered at the bar separately. If you assume that, then you know you won't be ordering something cheap. If you're on a diet or not an alcoholic, stay home

hahaha... ... sorry, what are we talking about again?!

These little things keep pressuring our famiree.. I understand I'm a little voice in this matter, but I like the idea of having a seperate drinks tab. Dishes usually are so close in prices (unless you get an appetizer as your dinner) that it really doesn't matter, which is the whole reason why Richard wasn't happy with the last meal... and I didn't get it for a while, but I understand now.

So, to conclude this wonderful discussion, instead of hiring an accountant for every dinner, I like the single person being assigned idea.

1) If a meal stands out on the tab (ie. everyone is between 8-10 bucks for the plate, Mr. XYZ has a $17 salmon dish), the assigned person will work that detail out quietly on the side with the person.

2) Drinks tab will be separated from the main bill.

3) Tip is split evenly across the group.

4) You will hug thy neighbor.

(And to clarify, I did share a beer with Quan... but it tasted as good as tap water )

This leads into next weeks plans! Bowling, I think Fred's got a plan for Wednesday night. Look for the thread.
