CCA...Any opinions?
Hi guys...i dont think i ever posted here, but theirs a first time for everything.
My names Frank, Im in community college right now studying computer graphics. im pretty sure this is going to be my major, and i plan on transfering out to a four year art college. i stumbled upon the cca website (california college of the arts), and i was just wondering how the area is around the town and campas.
im used to the suburb life, and if i transfer out their ill have to find a place to live and get a job to support myself. ill be leaving the s2000 back in NJ though .
anyway im just looking for some opinions and suggestions from people that live in the area of this school. im hoping to come out to give it a visit once i get my portfolio stronger. imo the west coast will have a better oppertunity for me. theres not much over here, at least in california their is hollywood, and the chances of stardom are minimal, but they do exist.
if i dont transfer out to cca, or another out of state school, ill probably just go to the university of arts in philadelphia. its 15 minutes from my house, and its also very good. thanks for any future opinions and suggestions guys.

You'll need to bring the S. You will absolutely need a car and you won't be studying 24/7.
I moved out here 7 years ago and haven't looked back. Great place to be.
OTOH it is California. That's not a bad thing but it is a *different* thing from Philly. And 8th St San Francisco and Broadway in Oakland *ain't* suburban living. You can live in a suburban area and commute but I would recommend it.
My 2 cents.

Depends on your definition of cheap...
And your definition of ghetto...
Broadway in Oakland goes from the very best to the very worst. If you don't have covered parking for your S, I'd think about a hardtop.
