Cat replacement under warranty

Cat replacement under warranty
Just found out that I have a bad catalytic converter and was wondering if anyone has experience getting their cat replaced under the emissions warranty (or any kind of warranty work) at any dealerships in the area. I have an '05 AP2 with ~71,000 on the odometer, so I should still be covered under the Federal Emissions Warranty for the cat (8/80,000, link here).
The only mod I have is a K&N FIPK--will they give me a hard time about it?
Thanks in advance!

I doubt they would give a hard time over a CARB legal modification to your car, but anything is possible. How do you know your cat is bad? The dealership will want to verify first that the cat is indeed bad, which they will charge you for. If indeed the cat is bad and is replaceable under warranty, they will likely refund the inspection charge or credit it towards any repair bill.

I haven't had much success with getting my cat replaced. I've been given the run around with 2 south bay dealerships: Anderson & Hopkins Honda. Just keep in mind if the cat does go out hopefully your O2 sensor doesn't. They will charge an arm on the leg for a replacement sensor + labor costs.

Legally, they would have to prove that the intake caused the cat to fail in order to deny the warranty claim based only on the intake... In reality, they'll probably blame the intake right away. If you've still got the stock intake, swap back. Since it's just an intake, it's probably worth it to avoid the hassle.
