Cars on craigslist
Hi ~
I am buying a car off craigslist. I was wondering if anyone knows a good mechanic to do a quick inspection of the car to let me know if there are any problems. Its a Laguna Blue S2000 2006... I checked it out but would still like to have a mechanic put it up on the hoist and do an x-point inspection and tell me that the car is still 'new' with no accidents.
thanks,
Rob

unless you know a mechanic or someone who does, a dealership is a good option.

i saw it posted on craigslist monday night, i was there wednesday afternoon to pick it up!
that was after searching for a good s2k deal for ~3 months though.. i really wanted a white or black one, but of course.. ended up with silverstone

Yea, I found mine very quick and decided not to do an inspection because I the car has only 22k miles and just had its service done and I trusted the guy. Well I ended up bringing it to my mechanic a little later for an oil change and he says he thinks that it was in a minor accident because a couple body panels(i think fender and something else) were missing the VIN tags, so I learned my lesson to always bring it to a mechanic before buying, even though I ran a carfax and it came up clean(those don't seem to help much)
