Do our tax-dollars pay for uniformed officers to be standing by a tent with a demo-car and flyers...or do the event organizers? I don't see how a local PD, or even CHP, officers could be chaperoning an event without some coin being handed over by the organizers (or tax payers). It's not uncommon to see LEO at the international car shows, larger meets, etc. I believe its for a good cause (e.g., safety, good PR, etc), but let's not kid ourselves that it's some "inside connection" that's really running things in a situation like this. few friends went to this, incl one w/his son under the guise of "bonding time." #marriedlife think he brought his black $$$-pit Jag that he"s restoring. we tried to get our buddy that's one of the East Bay's finest to bring out his classic musclecar toy, but he's too busy w/soccer & hoops games on weekends. will try to make the next or a future event. i know another friend wants to do some promo for his shop too.
