Does the alarm still engage and disengage? Maybe the fuse to the alarm burned out during the battery install. It's happened to me before on another car.

I disengaged it. However my trunk's lock did not lock properly last night. So I opened it and pressed it down. And I noticed that it has a wire connecting to the front which lights up the indicating light when the trunk is ajar. Not sure if this is linked to the electric lock system, which then kills the engine?

Are you sure your alarm isn't interfering? Most alarms have a starter kill that basically does what your describing.....

if you have not pin pointed the problem, i would advise you to seek help in locating the culprit. the worst thing would be to have this problem go away without resolution and then one day it happens again at the most inopportune time, and leave you stranded.

I wonder if it might have anything to do with the alarm or lock system that hotwired it since my alarm is screwed up. Happened once except that time the starter won't even churn.
