Default In-car cameras

Hey guys,

Considering buying a camera to strap onto/into the car to record drives and track events..any suggestions on brands and models?

I vaguely remember seeing someone on here posting a link to a camera they had just bought..a nifty little thing that seemed specifically made for in-car use.

I did search the forums on here but just came up with a crapload of results about traffic cameras, regular digital cameras, etc. but nothing specifically about in-car recordings.

Appreciate any input you guys may have and hopefully this thread will be of use to someone looking for something similar in the future too!

Cheers,
~S

A ton of people have been getting and using the GoPro cam.

Here are a ton of example videos:

I'm using a Sony P&S camera. I prefer the image quality over most of the dedicated action sports camera and having the versatility of using it for more than one thing.

I use the GoPro Motorsports HD camera. My daytime recordings are pretty good (r5/1080p and spot meter mode on) when aimed correctly.

Thanks for the tips, guys! Will have to think about it..wanting a real DSLR too, so need to consider the budget here.

Voodoo, may I ask how/where you hook up your P&S for your recordings? May as well try that too see if I really need something significantly better.
