Default Car Audio Problems EMERGENCY!

I Live in Bay Farm in Alameda and just installed 2 12" JL W0s in my trunk which sounded great in my old mustang but it sounds like CACA in my S. The bass isn't punchy at all it's really muffled and it doesn't get that loud... when I turn the volume up it gets more muffled. Is anyone else running into a similar problem? I think it's because of the really small trunk space.. i figured the bass has no room to resonate so it doesn't sound right. I'm thinking of making a vent or an opening from the trunk that goes to the cockpit so that the subs have more room to work with. Any help or words of advice would be aprreciated.... help a brotha out!!!!

How did you fit 2 12's? What kind of box is it in?

I got a custom box made at Pacific Audio in Fremont, The Magnets go down where the carjack kit used to be and the subs are upward firing towards the trunk. The setup looks very nice with the speakers in the middle and one amp on each side, one for the subs and one for the componet speakers in the cockpit I just wish it sounded as good as it looked. If you want to see it and you live somewhere around alameda/oakland I can stop by or I can take a pic and post it/email it to you.

Ive done a few boxes for S2000's they all sounded pretty well. I had 1 12 that sounded pretty good. All I can think of is the box is too small or poor quality. Post a pic up, I dont live anywhere close to Alameda.

hey, can i ask how much you paid them to do that? fiberglass or straight box?
all i can think of is the same as jdmwhore, space is too small or it just sucks.
what amp and deck are you running with this setup?

OK so....please try to not use the term 'Emergency" for something that isn't.....next time people might just ignore. I was expected something that could damage you or your car....instead I got "it sounds like crap"....this isn't an emergency.....Good luck and try the electronics forum they will be FAR more help than we will.

Cool

CrazyPhuD Well for me this is an emergency, Music is my life and if I kept my system stock I was gonna end up killing myself from the frustration, my death isn't an emergency to you but to my friends and I it is. You must not be into music like I am or you would inderstand. Superslows2k I'm running a JL slash series amp 250/1, and an alpine amp for the component speakers with a straight box. I called my one friend over and he knows someone who works at a car audio place. After he tuned both the amps the system sounds lush. Thanks for offering to help..... unlike some people I know!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR

I know the shop and saw your car there a few times. The owner is my friend and they have awesome prices but.....

I only have my 12W6 in my S2k and it's LOUD LOUD! haha

There must be something wrong in terms of the wiring or something else.....

As for the emergency, I think CrazyPhuD meant that it's not considered something that requires immediate attention. Just go back to the shop since u paid them to do the install.
