Default Canadian in California.

Hey guys,

I'm going to be flying down to San Francisco in late August and wanted to do a road trip to LA from there.

It's a bit of a drive but I thought it would be cool to drive down the 1 by the ocean.

I know some or a lot of it is basically driving by houses that cover the ocean view so not sure if it's worth the drive.

Any suggestions? Anyone up for making me a map ??

i've done over 100 roundtrips between SF & LA over the years (lived in both areas). Highway 5 is the quickest route. 1 to 101 is the most scenic. take the latter if you have the time. Santa Cruz, Carmel, Monterey, Solvang, San Luis Obispo, & Santa Barbara are nice stops.

have fun & drive safe!

Did you want to take your time and make it a two day trip or start super early and take the whole day?
I've got food stops in a few locations

Pretty open to suggestions. Time isn't a factor. I have the whole week off

Ideally a one day trip even if it takes me 16 hours to get there. There are two of us and we're going to be splitting up the driving.

Food is my second passion! Fire away.

^ lol nice

You must try the dry fried chicken wings. We call them crack chicken for a reason. Note: go here when you arrive because if you go before you leave you'll most likely regret not going sooner for a second go.

Lake Ontario and Lake Superior are the two lakes I remember going to as a kid. Lake Ontario was more memorable because that's where I was thrown in the water and was told to swim lol I also walked a bit too close to the swing and got kicked in the head did a few flips and possibly landed on my head. Good times for sure lol

I moved when I was 7 so not really much of a Canadian anymore hahahaha

I'll try and post up some more stuff when I get a chance.

Well. I moved to Canada when I was 16 and I relocated to Costa Rica this past year. Canada is still home though and I'm spending my month off driving through the rockies and well a trip to LA for a friends wedding.

Thanks for all the tips. Now I just need to find someone that will rent me their s2000
