It's a shame they don't have more women at Home Depot these days.
Went to OSH, Home Depot and another Ace Hardware and all were a no go. At least I know the exact sizes or what I need though so I'll buy some online.

McMaster-Carr is a popular distributor in the engineering world. Mostly because of their fast shipping, good website, and extensive catalog of in-stock hardware. Not always the cheapest after shipping cost though.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned it, but the other sites mentioned above definitely work as well.

Not sure where you're located, but there are local shops that carry obscure fasteners, including Bowlin Equipment (Berkeley) and some other small ones in Belmont and SJ that I can't remember right now. Some Ace Hardware stores are better than others. The one in Petaluma has a decent selection of metric stuff.
