Default Can anyone help me adjust my clutch?

Can anyone help me put the pedal into spec? I just changed my clutch a week ago. and the engagement point is now at the top. I have tried messing around with the rod behind the pedal to lower the engagement point but its still very high up. I would like to do this soon because its pissing me off because it feels like my brand new clutch is going to slip like my last one.

FYI most clutches grab there. Mine does. The problem is when you have it at the bottom.

How much play do you have when you push on it with your finger it should be roughly an inch.

Can't imagine why you'd want it to engage lower than that?

i can push about an inch with my fingers. after that inch its really hard to press down with a few fingers. my clutch will start disengaging about half an inch past that. so in total if the pedal was at rest, it would take about 1 and half inch of travel before it disengaged. it also engages at that same spot, dont know if it should be any different between disengaging and engaging point. you guys think its normal? is there anyone that can confirm it for me? maybe I can drop by the meet and have someone check it out?

I also smelled some weird burnt smells while driving the past week. i dont know if i burned my clutch but the smell only last for about 5 seconds. I thought it was just some oil i might of spilled that burned but it persisted a couple days after i changed my oil also. i usually smell it once a day maybe.

It sounds like it's fine but bring it by the meet and either myself or someone else can look at it.

The clutch engages/disengages at a very high point on the S2000, it's not like a lot of european cars like audis where the clutch point is way down low. I have a little less than an inch of play, and then 1 inch after that and the clutch starts to disengage. I think your clutch is fine, it's how every S I've driven is, and every Honda for that matter. I kind of like it that way anyways

As for the burnt smell, clutch smell is very distinctive -- if it was that, you probably slipped it a bit too much. Just let it cool down a few minutes and it is fine. The abuse the OEM clutch takes is amazing
