Default camshaft question

so i bent a valve on my head, and stevens creek honda service dept. says i need a whole new head because the valve tube broke and can't be repaired. ok, so i buy a used head from a guy off this forum. now they are telling me that stock cams are custom machined to each head and that buy using the cam from my original head that i would risk blowing the motor. is this true? the service manager told me that this information came directly from honda's tech line. for some reason, i just don't believe this to be true...

that doesnt make sense to me. but then again i'm not very mechanically inclined, however i'm still inclined to call coz it sounds like a plot to get you to buy a new head from them

i'd be skeptical of anything they said if they tried to feed you that bullshit, take your car somewhere else.

Screw this place. I wanted to buy an s2k from them. I told them I liked their offer, however I need to talk to some people and I'll be back tomorrow. They told me that if I didn't buy it from them that day, they wouldn't sell it to me at that same price tomorrow

I'm not too sure about F series engines but for B series it's not the cams but the cam caps (not sure if this is the right name) which goes on top of the cam can not be replaced since there are only 1 set for 1 head. I'm not sure if this is what the dealer is talking about.
