There's a lot of information about this out there on the web. There's a guy who actually went and took pictures of many of these NYC camera "stores". Many of them aren't stores at all, and look really shady. Don't ask me why, but the majority of these scammer stores are in Brooklyn.

A good read also on scams, where to buy, etc, but it's long:

Ken Rockwell...

Waiting for the

Though a bit full of himself, he's actually not THAT bad. He seems to have mellowed a bit over the years.

Fred -

Buydig.com
Newegg.com
amazon.com

In my experience, B&H is good but they also charge a hefty tag for all the advertisements they post in all the camera magazines. I use B&H as a resource and than go to the others for cheaper prices.

Good Luck!

hi,

I am a wedding/event photographer. I usually bought camera equipment from amazon or bhphoto.com

I perfer amazon.com at the first place because they have the best exchange/return policy. No question ask, free shipping and very good customer service.

Check the dpreview.com and the fredmiranda.com
You will see many Pro photograhper in there. If you have futher question about choosing camera equipment, feel free to Email me.

Good luck

HB
