i wonder... if a police officer doesn't agree with this type of bust, are they still required to participate in the raid? I mean, if I was a cop and car enthusiast as a hobby, I would feel this type of raid is ridiculous and totally uncalled for.

and i disagree with sgt. skip's comment on mods on cars. what if I bought a rifle and wanted to put neat accessories on it, such as a low profile scope or red dot. Am I going to be accused of planning to assassinate someone? Might as well give tickets to Porsche drivers for having fast cars.

But then again, it looks like they did it for the money... though they used $503k to FUND it...

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this already. Sorry if this is a repost.

I think the Satan Clara PD did something similar last Sunday. I was going westbound on El-Camino (coming home from work) and Lawrence expressway at around 9pm and I noticed that the shopping center where the Starbucks is located was sorrounded by the Satan Clara PD. There's usually some type of car-enthusiast gathering at that shopping center. Anyway, as I passed the area, a cop stops me for not having plates. I told the Pi__<enter expletive here> it's a new car and I'm still waiting for the license plates. Well of course I didn't get a ticket but the bastard scratched the passenger side window on the CR. What had happened is that when he stopped me I only opened the driver side window, and he went on the passenger side and tapped his flashlight really hard on the window. As it turns out the scratch was just some type of metallic residue and I was able to remove it.

should file a complaint.. it's really mess up the cops treat people like they already commit some kind of crime...

issue tickets/harassing innocent people = $$ + easy job

catch criminal = spending $$$ + danger

wonder which the cops prefer to do

That's a pretty good way of telling the truth.
