I am not too worried about the trannys. I purchased through Acura the 4 year or 48000 mile warranty. So we will see how it turns out. It runs great right now.

MDX is NICE!! Not rugged enough for me though, so I'll have to stick with my H3! ;-) Of course I already blew my right rear tire out in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico, so I guess I should have upgraded my tires at the time of purchase.

Yeah, I heard 02's and 03's have tranny problem and tend to come in for service a lot.
I bought an '02 brand new, no problems at all! We have 49,000 miles now.

We were also thinking in buying a MDX for the wife too. With the new 2007 model coming out you can get a killer deal on a new '06. For example you can get a Touring with NAV and DVD for $38k. But then I am thinking why not just wait for the '07? So, maybe I'll just wait and see how the new model looks like and decide then which one to get.

Sounds like a great deal....I paid $38k in August '02 for a Touring model without Navi. I think the new model will be awesome but probably pushing $50k with all options....just my prediction.
