Attempting to get numbers at the track was a lesson in wheelspin management. Hot temperatures and an uphill straightaway didn't help matters much, but the numbers speak for themselves. With a 0-to-60-mph time of 6.3 seconds, the Dodge was over a second-and-a-half quicker than its closest competitor, the Mazdaspeed Proteg

"0-to-60-mph time of 6.1 seconds" for the S2000
Car and driver usually has better #'s, and I think they posted a 13.8 @ 104 mph recently for the neon.....I think for the S2000 they got a 14.0 @ 100 (good time for the S btw)....seems faster than a S to me, esp that 104mph trap speed!
I'd like to see that Car and Driver article. Edmunds did complain about traction. It's hard to imagine there's an easy remedy for that. And edmunds did get sub 6 second 0-60 times in one of their AP1 tests...

Dont tell me guys that I wasted all my money on an S2000 just to get smoked by a damn American Stock Neon! This is freaking outrageous I faulken hate turbo cheap azz rides like Neons and Evos those things are not built to last but half a decade and thats it! Resale on these cars is nuttin compared to the S. Im sure any car with turbo could smoke are S2000s!
