Camelbacks are for mountain bikes.

Water bottles are cheaper and it's better to not have things strapped to you. Plus you can put them in the dishwasher...

More convenient. Not like I'll be racing or anything . Will I be uncool if I wear one as a road biker?

Yeah, it does look weird. I have one for mountain biking and it is not more convenient, assuming you want to keep it clean.

It is better not to have extra stuff attached to your body too.

Oh. Bummer.

That means I need to buy a water bottle and a cage to hold it instead. Off I go!

back when i was cycling i did have a camelbak for water bottles are not enough... back then i bike a total distance of 10 miles everyday.

2liter camelbaks are not that heavy and its much safer than watter bottles for you just have to pop it in your mouth and drink. rather than the conventional bottles that you have to remove one of your hands out of the handle bar

just my .02

10 miles should be less than 1 water bottle unless it's 100+ degrees. And most bikes allow you to carry two bottles, which can be refilled.

Camelback for road biking is akin to putting Mopar stickers on your import (or JDM stickers on your domestic). It's not "wrong". It's just traditionally not done. People will look at you funny.

Thanks for the link! Will be heading over to REI later to pick up some handle bar tape, cage, and water bottle.

Jason, not me I couldn't even ride a full block at decent pace (maybe 20mph? MAYBE) without getting a side cramp . I'm really out of shape...
