If you have house or rental insurance, it should pay. Else you can try your car insurance.

I don't think anybody is going to bid up the price to near $1200. Your insurance should cover plus
labor and minus deductable = Ebay bid price plus labor cost. I think the top is yours to take

Thanks to everyone for your kind words and helpful advice. I've already made the claim...now it's just a matter of getting my S into a body shop so they can start working on it. Should I just have the dealer's service center replace it?

sorrie janice! i dont know whats going on with S2's and slashed tops, but it seems to be happening to everyone. are you planning on getting a blue top to replace it?

Sorry about what happened to your beautiful car. It is sad to hear that a car parked in a locked garage can get valdalized like that. I am keeping my fingers crossed that my neighborhood is better than that, because I leave my car in the garage also. I hope you can get that repaired before the rain starts.
