As I was going home last night after a quick run at Woodside, I encountered a very unfortunate accident. If you live or commute in the North bay freeways, I'm sure you've noticed the big digital signs that read "Geary closed at VanNess" with a bunch of cones surrounding it on the shoulder.

It was around 2am, I'm heading home on 280N (dark freeway) and as I was letting off the throttle to exit at Balboa Bart, I noticed some of the cones next to the signs were slightly knocked over into my lane. I slowly swerved away from it but when my attention was back on the road, there were another two cones dead center in front of me. Didn't have enough reaction time so went head on with the cone at 70. Needless to say, cones don't go under our cars so I dragged it off the freeway. My bumper suffered a couple spider web cracks upon impact and my splitter was torn in half. CHP came but no point in filing a report to give myself another point on my record, shows up in the car record, and my insurance would see it. This night sucked.

For anyone traveling in the north bay freeways, be careful when these signs are around. It looked like some idiot thought it would be funny to throw these out into the lanes, or some drunk driver smack into them. Whatever it may be, drive safe!

Sounded completely unavoidable, but you did the right thing by not dramatically swerving into the other lanes or something like that.
