Hey guys, I have them replaces at wheels work. The price was as expected. The tires are W tires, so I guess they are OEM then. But aren't ZR tires better than W tires? The speed limit for the former is "above 186mph" and it is "168mph" for the latter.

Yeeman,
You got the right tires.
re: speed ratings...
ZR= 149mph rated
ZR w/ W rating after the load index = 168
ZR w/ Y rating after the load index = 186
W= 168mph rated
hope that helps. If not, see link for clarification.

I decided on TIre Rack. 133 apeice for front and 146 apiece for back. 15 per tire installation +3 per tire parts (stems etc.)
Tire rack will drop ship to many and various places near you. Go to the tire rack site and click o "installation" to find out.
All 4 for 660 incl tax. isn't bad. Good service too ... so far.

I also ordered from Tire Rack, $142/rear + drop shipping to tire shop a mile away from home in CA... $301.20.
Tires arrived in 3 or 4 days to the shop, went in, got the rears changed out in 20 min for like $50 including
valve stems and balance and what-not. About $350 for a pair of rears.
The Wheel Works I went to (forgot road, but near SJSU), didn't even have the S2000 OEM S-02's in the computer..... they guys said it was discontinued, and gave a pretty outrageous price for the S-03's. So
I went with tirerack instead and saved about $150 hehe.

Are the W-type S-02's available one size wider? Like 245's for the back?
I had to get ONE tire for the rear last year and got the wrong one (not the W) from my local Wheel Works. It is one of those former Grand Auto shops. Kinda flakey. The one in Walnut Creek is much more professional and knowledgable. Anyway Wheel Works did take back the wrong one and mounted the pair of rears I got from Tirerack. Seemed like I paid like $180 something, I guess they have come down. The (Porsche type) S-02 they sold me originally was about $275 at WW.
I have 21000 on my original fronts and 13000 on those rears. i also learned you can't replace just one side. Handled like crap

Bob... wacth those fronts. Check the *inside* of the fronts 'cuz they wear unevenly due to an agressive factory setup. I opted to spend the extra coin for the "like new" feel and the safety of the new fronts.
Be careful.
(BTW... you're right... the fronts were 133 and the rears were 142 apiece.)
