Best way to replace my rear tires?
What is the cheapest way to replace my rear tires in South Bay? I still want the OEM Potenza SO-2. Do you order from Tirerack and then mount them somewhere local? Where to mount?
Thanks

Order from Tirerack and have them drop shipped to North Star Auto in Mountain View. A lot of people on this forum recommended North Star and they did a great job with my car.

One set I got at Tire rack was before the price drop, but I remember paying like $176 each and then paid $15? for shipping each and $15/tire to mount and balance. Final price was just over $400. Wheelworks matched the price of the tire ( including shipping since i'd have to pay that anyways )for me last time and they were pretty cool about it. If you know a smaller shop, the mount and balance cab be had for as little as $15/wheel, but if they are doing it all for $465, i'd just get it done so you dont have to woirry anymore. besides, its nice to be able totake your car there anytimne you have questions about tires etc, and free balancing . Please be advised that NOT all Wheelworks are created equal. Some stores are better than others as I have tried many. best bet is the one in campbell on White Oaks, and Downtown SJ on 1st. Mtn view was ok. Not good experience at the former GrandAuto sites that are now Wheelworks...less experienced staff I think. Good luck.

Since "search" is still down, I can't look for the information. But I thought there are some differences between the Honda S2000 OEM S02 tires and the S02's sold by retailers.

If you get the OEM tires, you can get the normal tire size (the ones you have on the rear now). If you get any other tire, you need to get the 245/45/16 for the rear.
