Best Seafood in SF

I personally make it a point not to go to franchise restaurants when going out for a "nice" meal.
While places like Joe's Crab Shack and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. may have a decent menu (@ corporate pricing), the real food and flavor comes from the one-of-a-kind eateries.
That being said.....Allioto's on the warf is excellent. Great second story view, and even better food. Not cheap, but hey...this is a nice nite out.
If ya wanna go cheaper, I like walking along the warf and eating off the various carts. Yum. Got clams on the half shell, anyone? Crabcakes?
.....3+ years in Pleasant Hill / Walnut Creek. Bay Area was great!
