Downtown San Jose isn't too bad of a location (since you wanted south bay), especially once the holiday decorations are put up. Other than that, I think SF has the best token locations to shoot at, especially if you shoot while the fog/sunset starts rolling in. Or you can just try Hwy 1

Treasure Island is a nice place to take pics....heres one of a few that I took at the Jelly Belly meet I hosted last year.
