Best place to buy ski/snowboard gear locally

What are some good brands for like the boards, bindings, and boots... I will have no problem getting all the clothes and looking good or like I know what I'm doing. But I probably am going to suck at first. I'm going this weekend and am just going to rent to make sure I like it and don't totally suck ass...

Boards - boards haven't changed much in the last few years...if your a beginner anything 'all mountain' is good. just make sure you get the appropriate size.
and boots that fit snug.

oh yea and make sure you when you put your boots on walk around in them for about 30 minutes or so...people dont realize that your foot swells up like a mofo when your boarding which can get really uncomfortable real quick.
